‘It’s not death-by-PowerPoint, it’s the death of good ideas if we take too long to get to the point.
Paul thrives on the challenge of turning complexity into simplicity … packaging ideas and information, into succinct and compelling stories that move people.
His career conceptualising and coaching presentations started back in 1983. He was approached by New York based advertising agency BBDO, to help set up Ideadata, the first computer generated graphics bureau in South Africa.
He founded Business Presentation Skills, the first training company of it’s kind in South Africa and worked on the development of a number of unique communication skills development programmes and tools, including Participlan, the widely used visual mapping tool for facilitating meetings.
Paul has consulted and coached leadership teams and executives, in the majority of the top 100 companies in South Africa and run workshops for multi-national groups in Europe, North America, United Kingdom and Sub Saharan Africa.
In 2008, he launched Pitch, a creative hot shop for presentations, with a team of independent specialists assembled to match the requirements of each project.
Collectively, they focus on presentations for new business pitches, road shows, and conference events.
Throughout his career, Paul has grabbed every opportunity to be engaged as a speaker at conferences and special events. He points out that it’s a great way to continue to fine-tune his own skills and ultimately offer better coaching and advice to his clients.
